Child-Safe TV Wall Mounting

Wall mounting is the most reliable way we know to help reduce TV tip-over risk in homes with young children. We use load-rated fixings sized to the TV, perform a pull test before leaving, and route cables out of reach. Part of our full TV wall mounting service across London.

TV and furniture tip-overs send children to A&E across the UK every year. City & Guilds Level 3 trained — a correctly wall-mounted TV is the most reliable way we know to help reduce that risk.

Tip-over

Furniture- and TV-tip-over incidents send children to A&E across the UK every year

Why wall mounting matters

Structural

Wall mount transfers the TV's weight into the wall itself, not into a furniture strap that can degrade or be pulled free

Why wall mounting beats anchoring

Pull-tested

Every install is load-tested before we leave, with fixings rated above the TV's loaded weight

Our Process

How We Ensure a Safe Install

01

Full wall assessment

We check the wall type and condition, identify stud positions, and confirm the safest fixing method before drilling a single hole.

02

Load-rated fixings throughout

Every fixing we use is rated well above the TV weight. We never use lightweight fixings, hollow-wall plugs, or anything that degrades in plasterboard over time.

03

Load test before leaving

Once mounted, we apply a firm downward and outward pull test on the TV before declaring the job complete. If there is any movement, we address it.

04

Cable safety

We route and secure cables so trailing wires at floor level are kept out of children's reach. Cable hiding (surface trunking on solid walls, behind-wall on plasterboard) is available as an add-on — see our pricing page.

Common Questions

Child Safety TV Mounting FAQ

Does wall mounting a TV make it completely safe for children?

A properly wall-mounted TV on correctly sized fixings is the most reliable way we know to help reduce tip-over risk. The TV becomes part of the wall structure — unlike furniture straps, there is nothing loose, nothing that degrades over time, and nothing that can be tugged free. It is the method we recommend for households with young children, alongside keeping cables routed out of reach.

What bracket is safest when children are in the room?

A flat or tilt bracket positions the TV closest to the wall with no outward arm that children can grab or swing. If you need to adjust the viewing angle, a tilt bracket is the best compromise between safety and flexibility. Full-motion swivel brackets can be used safely but position the TV slightly further from the wall.

How secure is TV wall mounting on a plasterboard wall?

Using the correct specialist cavity fixings — grip-it anchors, toggle bolts, or stud-mounted brackets — a plasterboard wall mount is secure for most domestic TVs once the wall, bracket and load are matched. We size the fixings' rated pull-out strength to the TV's loaded weight and test the mount under load before leaving.

Can you mount a TV out of reach of young children?

Yes — we can position the TV at any height. Many parents choose to mount the TV higher than standard viewing height to keep it out of reach of toddlers, accepting a slight viewing angle trade-off for added safety. We bring a tilt bracket in these cases so the screen still faces you.

Is TV wall mounting safe in a nursery or children's bedroom?

Wall mounting is generally the safest TV option in a children's bedroom. We recommend a flat or tilt bracket for minimum projection from the wall, and routing cables out of reach at the same time. We can discuss cable management options to remove trailing wires.

How much does child-safe TV mounting cost?

Child-safe TV mounting starts from £100. Most jobs use our Standard tier (from £150) which secures the TV high on the wall with cables fully hidden — no trailing cables, no toppling risk. See /pricing.
