Floating Shelf Installation — Level & Secure in London

We install a floating shelf level and secure on any wall — as an add-on to TV mounting across London and the South East. You can supply the shelf yourself, or ask us to source one with the cost agreed in writing before the visit. A shelf below your wall-mounted TV keeps your Sky box, Apple TV, or console off the floor and cables short.

How It Works

You Choose the Shelf — We Install It

Part of your TV mounting job — we bring the fixings, assess the wall, and install your shelf level and secure.

You Supply the Shelf

Choose any shelf in the size, colour, and finish you want. A slim, deep shelf in white or black is a popular choice for below a mounted TV. Most standard floating shelves work — heavy or custom shelves checked against the wall on the day.

We Assess the Wall

On arrival we check your wall type — plasterboard, brick, or concrete — and confirm the correct fixing method. We bring fixings for all wall types so nothing delays the install.

Installed Level and Secure

We use a digital level on every shelf. Positions are marked, confirmed, then drilled. The shelf is checked again after fitting — not finished until it is visually straight.

Cables Tidied to the Shelf

Any equipment going on the shelf — Sky box, Apple TV, console — has its cables tidied alongside your TV cables. For a fully concealed run, add our cable hiding service when you book.

Popular Uses

What Customers Put on the Shelf

Sky Q or Sky Stream Puck

Positioned below the TV — satellite cable routed neatly, HDMI hidden.

Apple TV 4K

Hidden below the TV, HDMI and power routed cleanly alongside the TV cables.

Games Console

PS5, Xbox, or Nintendo Switch — kept off the floor with cables tidied to the shelf.

Streaming Devices

Amazon Fire TV Cube, Chromecast with Google TV, or any streaming box.

Soundbar on Shelf

Some soundbars without wall-mount holes sit on a shelf below the TV instead.

Display Items

Books, plants, ornaments — a second shelf in the room, not just below the TV.

Common Questions

Floating Shelf FAQ

Yes — shelf installation is an add-on to our TV wall mounting service. When you book your TV mount, mention you want a shelf and we include it in the same visit. Everything done together.
Either works — two options. (1) You supply the shelf and we install it: pick whatever size, material, and finish you want and bring it on the day; you pay the labour cost only. (2) Tell us when you book and we will source one for you: we agree the shelf cost in writing before the visit and the final price covers shelf + labour. We do not stock shelves on the van, so the source-it option needs pre-arranging — last-minute requests on the day cannot be accommodated.
Plasterboard, brick, and concrete are commonly suitable when the shelf load and fixings are matched. The fixing method varies by wall type and shelf weight — we assess your wall before drilling and confirm the approach with you before starting. Very heavy shelves on hollow walls may need additional fixings or relocation.
The most popular use is a wall-mounted Sky box, Apple TV box, or games console positioned directly below the mounted TV — keeps equipment off the floor and cables short. Display items like plants and books are also popular on a second shelf elsewhere in the room.
We use a digital level on shelf installs. Bracket positions are confirmed level before drilling and rechecked after fitting. A shelf install adds time on top of the TV mount itself — we estimate the visit length at booking. The shelf is checked and adjusted on the day until it sits visually straight.
Floating shelf installation as an add-on to TV mounting is from £30. Pricing scales with shelf size and number; quoted on enquiry. See /pricing.
