Sony Bravia OLED Installation

The Sony Bravia OLED uses Acoustic Surface Audio+ — the screen itself creates sound. This makes it heavier than comparable OLED screens and means the panel requires particular care during installation. We handle Sony Bravia OLEDs correctly, supply the right bracket, and configure Bravia XR picture settings before leaving. Part of our full TV wall mounting service.

We are Richer Sounds Approved installers who regularly install Sony Bravia OLEDs across London and the South East — A80L, A90K, A95L, Bravia 8, and Bravia 8 II, in a wide TV-size range.

About This TV

What Makes the Sony Bravia OLED Different

The Bravia OLED is not a standard OLED TV. Sony's Acoustic Surface Audio+ system and unique cable management panel mean it requires a different approach to installation.

Why People Buy It

Acoustic Surface Audio+

Sony's Bravia OLED doesn't have traditional speakers. The screen panel itself vibrates to produce sound — positioned precisely to match audio to on-screen action. Combined with the Bravia XR processor and OLED panel, it is frequently rated the best overall TV by What Hi-Fi? UK.

Heavier Than It Looks

Sony's Acoustic System Adds Weight

The actuators and bracing needed for Acoustic Surface Audio make Sony Bravia OLEDs heavier per screen size than competing OLED TVs. The A95L (QD-OLED) and Bravia 8 are particularly dense. Wall fixings must be rated for the actual weight — not estimated. We weigh the bracket and confirm fixings before drilling.

The Installation Difference

Sony Cable Management Panel

Sony Bravia OLEDs have a built-in cable management panel on the back that routes cables neatly from connection points to the bottom of the TV. Used correctly, this means cables exit at the base of the TV in a single bundle — much cleaner than other OLEDs. We use Sony's own routing panel as part of the installation rather than ignoring it.

The Sony Bravia OLED has earned wide recognition for picture quality. It deserves installation that matches that standard.

What We Do

The Full Sony Bravia OLED Installation

The Bravia OLED has specific requirements a standard TV install does not cover. Here is everything we handle — as part of our professional TV mounting service.

OLED Panel Handling

Sony Bravia OLED panels are heavy and fragile. The Acoustic Surface system adds weight and internal bracing — correct handling throughout is essential. We follow Sony-specific OLED handling protocols.

Bracket Supply & Fitting

No bracket is included with any Sony Bravia OLED. If you’d like a bracket, we’ll add the right one to your quote and bring it on the day; if you’d rather supply your own, we’ll fit it; we also carry brackets in the van, confirming the VESA pattern and weight rating for your specific model and size.

Sony Cable Management

Sony's built-in back-panel cable routing channel is used to bundle and direct cables to a single exit point at the base of the TV. Combined with wall trunking or in-wall concealment, this gives the cleanest possible cable result.

Bravia XR Setup

Once mounted, we configure Bravia XR picture mode for the room, connect to Wi-Fi, set up Google TV, pair the remote, and verify Acoustic Surface Audio is working correctly.

I can't express how thrilled I am with Mount TV Limited! They came to my rescue after AerialForce told me that it was impossible to mount my LG G3 TV with the provided mount. Mount TV Limited proved them wrong with their expertise and determination.

Common Questions

Sony Bravia OLED FAQ

Does the Sony Bravia OLED come with a wall mount bracket?

No. Unlike some TVs, no Sony Bravia OLED model includes a wall mount bracket in the box. A VESA-compatible bracket must be purchased separately — and it must be rated for the actual weight of your specific model and size. The A95L (QD-OLED) and Bravia 8 are particularly heavy. If you’d like a bracket, we’ll add the right one to your quote and bring it on the day; if you’d rather supply your own, we’ll fit it; we also carry brackets in the van as part of our installation.

Why is the Sony Bravia OLED heavier than other OLEDs?

Sony's Acoustic Surface Audio+ system uses actuators bonded to the back of the OLED panel to make the screen itself vibrate and produce sound. These actuators, along with the additional internal bracing required to support them, add significant weight compared to competing OLED TVs of the same screen size. The A95L (QD-OLED) and Bravia 8 are the heaviest per size. This is why we weigh the bracket and confirm the correct fixings before drilling — an estimate based on screen size alone is not sufficient.

What is Sony's cable management panel on the Bravia OLED?

Sony Bravia OLEDs have a built-in cable management channel on the back of the TV. This panel routes cables from the HDMI, USB, and power connection points to a single exit point at the base of the TV, creating a tidy bundle rather than cables hanging in different directions. Used correctly — as we do — this means all cables exit at the bottom in one clean group, which makes further concealment with wall trunking or in-wall routing far neater. Many installers ignore this panel entirely.

Can you mount a Sony Bravia OLED on plasterboard?

Yes. A Sony Bravia OLED can be mounted on plasterboard using specialist cavity fixings or by locating and fixing into wall studs. Due to the higher-than-average weight of Sony Bravia OLED panels — particularly the A95L and Bravia 8 — we always assess the wall first to determine the correct fixing method. For 77" and above, stud-located fixing or a solid wall is strongly preferred.

Can you set up Bravia XR and Google TV after installation?

Yes. Once the TV is mounted and all cables are connected, we configure Bravia XR picture mode for the room, connect to your Wi-Fi, set up Google TV (including signing in to Google and configuring your preferred apps), pair the remote, and verify that Acoustic Surface Audio+ is working correctly. Before we leave we test picture and sound are confirmed working.
