TV Mounting in a Rented Flat
In most cases, yes — but check your tenancy agreement or ask your landlord first. Many ASTs treat 4–6 small drill holes as a minor alteration; some require written permission for any drilling. We work in rented properties regularly, explain exactly what the work involves so you can describe it accurately, and carry public liability insurance on every job. Part of our full TV wall mounting service across London.
Not sure about your tenancy agreement? We can talk you through what to ask your landlord before we book — or use our no-drill options.
What We Handle
We Understand Renting
We work in rented properties across London and the South East regularly. Here is how we make the process easy.
Tenancy agreement compatibility
We explain exactly what the work involves — 4–6 drill holes of standard size — so you can confirm with your landlord or check your agreement confidently.
Professional finish that is reversible
We drill only what is needed. No unnecessary holes, no surface damage. When you move out, the holes are small, uniform, and easy to fill.
Making good on request
If you need holes filled at the end of your tenancy, we can return and make good — filling and sanding holes to an invisible finish. Ask us when booking.

Common Questions
Renters FAQ
Can I mount a TV on the wall in a rented flat?
It depends on your tenancy agreement and your landlord. Many AST tenancies allow reasonable alterations provided you return the property to its original condition, and TV wall mounting typically involves 4–6 small drill holes that fill and paint cleanly — but you should check your specific agreement or ask your landlord in writing before booking.
Do I need my landlord's permission to mount a TV?
It depends on your tenancy agreement. Most AST (Assured Shorthold Tenancy) agreements allow minor alterations. Some require written permission for any drilling. If your agreement is unclear, we recommend sending your landlord a brief message to confirm — most say yes. We can help you understand what work we will do so you can describe it accurately.
Will the holes be noticeable when I move out?
Four to six small drill holes can be filled with standard polyfilla, sanded smooth, and touched up with matching paint to make them difficult to spot. We can fill holes ourselves on request, or advise you on what to use. The holes are no larger than a standard picture hook hole.
Are you insured for rental property work?
Yes — we hold public liability insurance. Accidental damage to the property during the install itself is covered under our policy, subject to the claim terms.
What if the wall is plasterboard in my rented flat?
Most flats have plasterboard partition walls. We mount on plasterboard regularly using specialist cavity anchors — sized to the TV's loaded weight where studs aren't usable. The result is secure for most domestic TVs once the wall, bracket and fixings are matched. See our plasterboard specialist page for more detail on the fixings we use.
How much does TV mounting in a rented flat cost?
TV mounting in a rented flat starts from £100. Most flats are plasterboard so jobs typically use our Standard tier (from £150). If you need to remove the bracket and patch holes when you move, our remount/dismount service is from £25. See /pricing.
